As the COVID-19 coronavirus took you into the cloud, did your data protection come along for the ride?

Brush up on your data security and protection skills in our upcoming show

Webcast If ever there was a convenient push to move stragglers into the cloud, the COVID-19 coronavirus has provided that impetus.

Cloud and software-as-a-service environments have truly saved many businesses during the past few months, allowing organisations to quickly pivot to remote working with collaborative platforms, instant messaging and file sharing, video conferencing, and more.

But with this fast, energetic leap into the cloud, there are considerations. Perhaps the most major of these is whether you’ve managed to bring with you the necessary level of protection and security for your information. It’s entirely possible that your corporate data has gone into places where you no longer control it.

This is the topic we’ll consider in our upcoming webcast. While the cloud looks like the most easily accessible and most convenient place for your corporate data right now, did you do your homework? Did you go in with the right attitude, and are you able to confidently state that your data is still within your grasp?

On September 8, 2020 at 11.30 SGT, The Register’s APAC Editor Simon Sharwood will be joined by Nathan Steiner and Raymond Goh from DR and intelligent data management firm Veeam. The panel will explore how to improve your data protection policy when venturing into the cloud.

The conversation will cover the skillsets IT teams should adopt when planning and performing an accelerated cloud migration, and where work done already can be adapted to cover IaaS and SaaS environments.

By the end of the session, you’ll have learned how to properly prepare your organisation for managing data spread across hybrid and multi-cloud environments, how to identify and reduce risks cloud adoption brings about, and how to support the mission, on an ongoing basis, by assembling digital transformation-focused teams.
