The ability to analyse live streams of mobile and sensor data is no longer optional

Huawei's Big Data vision will expand at this week's Huawei Connect 2016

Promo Business has long been able to gather performance data from many sources, but has often struggled to find the resources needed to identify context and meaning in the data it collects.

But the advent of mobile computing and the Internet of Things (IoT) means business now needs to monitor streams of incoming data generated by customers and operational sensors. The ability to ingest and analyse lots of data, often in close to real-time, is therefore no longer optional.

Thankfully, big data tools have emerged to meet these challenges and at Huawei's flagship technology conference, Connect 2016, the company will outline its evolving approach to helping business gain the intelligence it needs.

Huawei's approach to big data is to use technologies like Apache Hadoop and Spark, which make it possible to work at larger scales than ever before. Huawei has invested heavily in these technologies and the development of Big Data services.

In addition to product teams with hundreds of engineers, Huawei implements a wide array of research activities on algorithms, machine languages, and natural languages in its labs. With more than 80 solution architects, 300 senior experts, and 1,000 research and development engineers, Huawei is more than just an implementor of big data: the company is the second-ranked code contributor to the Hadoop community and the foremost contributor among all IT device vendors worldwide.

Huawei's platform for Big Data is called “FusionInsight” and has already been deployed in more than 500 projects for over 200 customers.

At Huawei Connect 2016, you'll learn about the evolution of FusionInsight, and how it will leverage the cloud and help you to prepare for the IoT. If you can't make it to the event, the Connect microsite will bring you more news of Huawei's evolving approach to Big Data.
