Juniper Networks planned upgrade kicks down some services

Sources whisper that it could go on for another week

Juniper Networks' partners have complained about a planned systems upgrade at the company which created a number of difficulties over the last week.

A number of sources contacted The Register to report the problem, which is understood to be related to an internal upgrade of its Customer Relationship Management system.

"It's a planned change and all the partners were notified to expect issues and outages for the first two weeks of January," said one contact who asked not to be named.

Another partner said the upgrade had affected parts of Juniper's customer services systems, along with part of the system that deals with customers wanting to buy licences.

"We've been told we can't even buy VPN user licences for another week or so. The bit of the system that deals with it is down until 14 Jan – and orders are going into a queue so it could be another week after that before licences get supplied," he said.

He said earlier this week Juniper's self-service ticketing system was down and that the product registration system will be down until 14 Jan, with its licence management system down until 11 January.

The Register contacted Juniper for a comment yesterday, and will provide an update if we get a response. ®
