Data-center-building-block upstart Nimboxx 'missing in action'

Lost – no reward for finding it, though

Nimboxx, a hyper-converged infrastructure appliance startup, appears to have gone AWOL.

We've heard that one customer has not been able to get in touch with the upstart for a month, and the phone line – 855-NIM-BOXX (855-646-2699) – is not working. We've been unable to get hold of anyone at the company. Its last tweet was sent out on November 17.

Wikibon analyst Stuart Miniman told us he thinks Nimboxx has ceased operations, and that this reflects the huge amount of upheaval in the hyper-converged space.

Nimboxx was founded in 2012 by chief technology office David Cauthron, and it bagged $12m in funding in an A-round. Rocky Bullock was the chief exec, who left in July 2015. Doug Lane was the vice-president of sales. He left in March, and is now global sales veep at ClearCube. Nimboxx's chief marketing officer Trent Fitz left in March.

It's possible Nimboxx's absence from the scene is a temporary hiatus. If the biz has closed down, the website is still up; a ghostly echo of a long-ago promise. ®
