Apple preps to DUMP crappy, sluggish iPhoto FOR GOOD

Fruity firm flings out pre-release version of Photos app-loaded OS X 10.10.3 to devs

Apple has pushed out a pre-release version of OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 to developers, ahead of Cupertino's planned Spring arrival of its iPhoto killer – Photos.

Coders can now play around with a beta of the Photos app, after Apple confirmed in June 2014 at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference that it was abandoning its unloved iPhoto and pic-tweaking Aperture in a big overhaul of its software.

The company vowed to release its new photography app for its Mac computers early this year, but that promise appears to have slipped into a Spring time frame.

Apple has not said exactly when the software will land, however.

Its Photos app, which appears to be similar to the offering already available on its fondleslabs and smartphones, comes with support for the fruity firm's iCloud Photo Library beta.

The iThing maker is clearly keen to store even more of your selfies and cat pics in its data centres. ®
