Want a free Bosch steam iron? You'll have to TALK TO THE DEAD

German appliance bods invite customers to commune with the dear departed

Bosch have invited British punters to commune with the spirit world in order to claim a free steam iron.

Anyone who buys a Bosch WAP28360GB or WAQ243D0GB washing machine at Currys is eligible to claim a free steamer, as long as they agree to hand over a small wodge of personal information.

One of the questions asks customers where they heard about the promotion, with all the usual options given.

Yet one of those options is ouija, for those canny consumers who like to reach over to the other side while trying to save a few bob. The option is spelled "oujda", which we assumed to refer to the board commonly used to contact the dead.

Then again, it could refer to a city in north east Morocco which is known as the home of a famous genre of Moroccan music called Gharnati. However, it does not appear to have a branch of Currys, although its twin town of Trowbridge has two.

We were tipped off to Bosch's necromantic offer by a reader called Alun.

The Reg fan wrote: "I bought a Bosch washing machine from Currys which has a free steam iron promotion. In order to claim the iron you have to fill in a form at the Bosch website. Clicking the claim now button presents you with a form to submit product details including the ubiquitous 'where did you here about this promotion?' question.

"Normally I pick one at random but I have never seen a drop down with oujda as an option before! Maybe they know more about me than I thought!" ®
