McKinnon loses judicial review

High profile campaign suffers potentially fatal blow

Breaking news Gary McKinnon has lost a judicial review against his extradition to the United States on hacking charges.

Lawyers for the Briton hoped his recent diagnosis with Asperger's Syndrome would be enough to persuade judges to overturn previous rulings and allow McKinnon to be tried in the UK.

But Lord Justice Stanley Burnton and Mr Justice Wilkie dismissed his judicial review at a hearing in London on Friday. Lawyers for McKinnon have 28 days to appeal.

Solicitor Karen Todner said she was also exploring the option of taking the case to the Supreme Court in the US. ®
