Apple 'most successful world brand'

Cillit Bang doesn't get a look in

Apple is the most successful brand in the world, according to an international online poll of marketers.

The Mac maker topped the majority of categories in the poll, which asked marketers which brands they would most like to be associated with, and which brands they thought would be the most successful in the future.

The 2,000 respondents to the survey by Interbrand-owned brandchannel.com said the brand they were most inspired by was Apple, followed by Nike, Coca-Cola and Google.

Asked which brand they could not live without, the highest number of respondents answered Apple, with Google again taking fourth place.

But Microsoft was not so lucky. Though it won two brand categories, the Redmond giant might not have chosen the two in question. According to the marketers, Microsoft is the top brand they wanted to argue with and also the top name they wanted to rebrand.

Of course, the marketers' wish could soon become reality - keep 'em peeled for the arrival of Microhoo!. ®
