Minor Firefox update addresses stability glitches

Nothing to see here, please move along

Mozilla pushed out a minor update for Firefox on Thursday that fixes a number of stability and performance glitches.

Firefox version 2.0.0.9 fixes problems introduced with version 2.0.0.8, which was released two weeks ago on 18 October, but nothing flagged as security related.

The 2.0.0.9 update addresses a number of niggling bugs, including the possibility that some add-ons might be disabled after updating from the previous release. Another bug with the 2.0.0.8 release meant the browser, in rare instances, crashed at startup, as explained in greater depth here.

The latest release of the open source browser is essentially a house-keeping exercise, cleaning up problems inadvertently introduced with the October update, which fixed scores of problems.

"The 2.0.0.8 release fixed some 200 issues, but accidentally regressed a few things," Mozilla sheepishly explains. ®
