PS3 update fails to fix Grand Theft Auto IV woes16th May 2008 07:44 GMT The thumbs of most GTA IV-owning PS3 gamers are probably red-raw by now, their only respite being the game’s inexplicable freezes. So you’d expect the latest firmware update for the console to fix the problem..? Related stories
Unfortunately, the answer is no. Al De Leon from Sony Computer Entertainment America said on the PlayStation blog yesterday that the latest version “isn’t related to GTA IV”. But he claimed Sony does have a solution, for which you’ll have to contact customer services, here. In the meantime, Eric Lempel, director of PlayStation network operations, has said that the latest firmware is “a relatively minor update to improve stability of some PS3 titles”. Sony hasn’t yet indicated which games will benefit from the update - though clearly GTA IV isn't one of them. Further details about Firmware 2.35 can found here. 68 comments posted — Comment period finished StrangePosted: 07:51 16th May 2008 Is this really as big as deal as the media is making out?Posted: 08:00 16th May 2008 Anybody else remember...Posted: 08:05 16th May 2008 Call of Duty now Freezes!Posted: 08:09 16th May 2008 Anyone actually know anyone with these problems?Posted: 08:17 16th May 2008 Buy the GTA IV Strategy Guide @ 34% off the RRP now at Register Books |
