Dimension Data scoops up Teksys

Goes for Gold Microsoft reseller

Dimension Data Holdings Plc has bought a UK-based Microsoft infrastructure and licensing services company for an undisclosed sum.

The IT services giant said today it had acquired Teksys, which is an MS “gold certified” partner and has clients that include the Bank of England and Watson Wyatt.

Teksys, which currently employs 81 workers, will become a wholly-owned DiData subsidiary and operate alongside the firm’s UK Microsoft solutions biz.

“The Teksys acquisition paves the way for the group to immediately provide its UK clients with new services around virtualisation, data centre design, software asset management and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007,” said DiData’s European boss Russell Bolan.

“Our skills around a number of Microsoft's unified communications technologies and systems management are also greatly bolstered.”

Last month the South Africa-based company, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange, said it expected to see a 13 per cent rise in sales for the final three months of 2008 even though US revenues took a significant hit in the same period. ®
