Novell buys Tally Systems

Bolt-on for Zenworks

Published Wednesday 23rd March 2005 14:51 GMT

Novell is buying Tally Systems, a small software company from Lebanon, NH for an undisclosed sum. The company is to integrate Tally’s IT asset management software into Zenworks, its systems management suite.

There is a Sarbanes Oxley angle to the purchase, according to Novell chief Jack Messman. The Tally-Zenworks combo gives customers a "powerful method of ensuring compliance, reducing software costs and preparing for software audits", he says.

This week Novell announced version 7, the latest iteration of Zenworks. Pricing and shipping details have yet to be announced, so for now you must make do with the press release. ®
